This year marks the first anniversary of Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) Center for Global Affairs and Science Engagement (GASE), and 60th founding anniversary of Taiwan’s science and technology institution. For over half a century, Taiwan is dedicated to becoming one of the world leaders in advanced scientific research and revolutionary technology. Building upon our predecessors’ foundation, the missions of MOST are to implement innovative measures and programs in order to provide sustainable environment for our science community, and to enhance our global partnerships through international cooperation.

A home to three major Science-based Industrial Parks and numerous high-tech enterprises, Taiwan not only is a leading producer of information and communication products, but also a nation with top-notch manufacturing technology, R&D facilities and strong talent pools.

According to the latest Global Competitiveness Report by World Economic Forum, Taiwan ranks number one in Asia and fourth globally for the key competitive attribute of innovation capability. The numbers reflect Taiwan’s hard work and commitment to promote our nation’s originality and international competitiveness in science and technology.

To celebrate six decades of research excellence and continuous power of innovation, MOST will host the 2019 Global Science and Technology Leaders Forum in Taipei, Taiwan. Honoring the past legacy and inspiring the future, this Forum will highlight Taiwan’s milestone in science and technology, and celebrate the long standing collaborations with our global partners. On behalf of MOST in Taiwan, I am pleased to extend to you my cordial invitation to this meaningful celebration.
