Dr. Ren C. Luo is a Fellow of IEEE, received Dipl.-Ing, and Dr.-Ing. Degree from TU Berlin, Germany. He is currently an Irving T. Ho Chair Professor and Director of International Center of Excellence on Intelligent Robotics and Automation at National Taiwan University; President of Taiwan R&D Managers Association. Editor-in Chief of IEEE Transactions on Industrial Informatics, one of world top Journals. Prof. Luo served as a member of EU Industrial Advisory Board; two terms as President of National Chung Cheng University and CTO of ASUS Company, CTO of FFG Company and Founding President of Robotics Society of Taiwan. He was a tenured Full Professor of N C State University, Raleigh, NC, USA and Toshiba Chair Professor of University of Tokyo, Japan. Prof. Luo was President of IEEE Industrial Electronics Society and Science and Technology Adviser of Administrative Yuan, Taiwan ROC.

Prof Luo’s expertise includes AI enhanced robotic control systems and intelligent manufacturing systems. He published more than 500 papers in refereed international Journals and international refereed conference proceedings. Prof. Luo received numerous international awards include IEEE Eugean Mittlemann Outstanding Research Achievement Award, IEEE IROS Harashima Innovative Technologies Award; ALCOA Company Outstanding Engineering Research Award, USA; MOST Outstanding Research Awards.
